An extensive detail set from the Czech manufacturer Aires in 1:48 scale, made as a new tool. It is not a model of the airplane in its own right, but a set of accessories of cast resin completed with photo-etched parts. The set replaces selected plastic parts with more faithful castings with fine detail and is intended for the F4U-1 plastic kit from the firm Tamiya.
The set refines the exposed areas of the aircraft, typically the cockpit space and other areas where detail comes out. The F4U-1 Corsair was an American carrier-borne fighter of the Second World War, characterized by its cranked inverted gull wing. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of parts on the box of the set.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash the mold release agent off them and degrease them. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate); reckon with fine-tuning the fit by sanding and cleaning up the joints. Wear a respirator when sanding resin.
An accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
