A resin detail engine in 1:48 scale from the maker Aires, the Quickboost range. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the simpler plastic powerplant with a faithful resin replica of the radial engine with rendered cylinders and lines. The part is meant to be built into a matching plastic model, above all for a display with the engine cowling open.
The Vought F4U-1 Corsair is an American carrier fighter of the Second World War, easily recognized by its inverted gull wing. It was powered by the strong Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine, which gave the aircraft high speed. The F4U-1 version was the first production variant of this type.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The engine comes into its own with metallic shades; the lines and the wiring are best picked out with a fine brush and the whole deepened with a dark wash. Try the fit dry before the cowling is closed.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
