Painting masks F6F Hellcat 1:48 (Eduard)

A set of self-adhesive painting masks from Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an accessory for building the Grumman F6F Hellcat. The masks are applied to the canopy glazing and to the wheels; after spraying they peel off easily and leave clean, sharp transitions with no paint seeping through.

The real subject

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War and one of the key machines of the US Navy in the war in the Pacific. It stood out for its robust structure, powerful radial engine and reliability. In combat over the Pacific it achieved an outstanding victory ratio and contributed markedly to gaining air superiority over Japanese aviation.

Use

• Carefully transfer the masks onto clean and degreased glazing and press them down so that they adhere well.
• We recommend spraying the color of the inner framing first and then the final covering shade.
• Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, so that it does not seep under the edge of the mask.
• Once dry, peel the masks off carefully, ideally with the tip of a knife or with tweezers.
