This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the brand Hobby Boss represents the American carrier-borne night fighter Grumman F6F-5N Hellcat. The model has engraved panel lines, a well-worked cockpit, a multi-part canopy and a twin-row radial engine. According to the instructions the wings can be built spread or folded.
The F6F Hellcat was a carrier fighter of the US Navy, powered by the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine. The F6F-5N version was a night fighter fitted with a radar in a pod under the right wing and with mixed armament. The Hellcat became one of the most successful carrier fighters of the Pacific war.
Finish and paint the cockpit first, and only then close the fuselage. Mask the canopy glazing and pick out the engine and the landing gear bays with washes. For the dark blue-gray naval scheme an airbrush works well, together with a smooth gloss varnish under the decals and a final matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
