The 1B suffix denotes the version in which the 12.7 mm machine guns were replaced by four 20 mm cannons with greater destructive power. The box contains clear parts for the canopy glazing. The Bearcat was Grumman's last piston-engined carrier fighter. It was created on the principle of fitting the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine into the smallest and lightest possible airframe - the result was an exceptionally agile aircraft with an outstanding rate of climb. It practically did not see action in the Second World War, but it served with the US Navy in the postwar years and it also became famous as the basis for air racing specials. The F8F-1B version carried cannon armament instead of machine guns.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin modeling cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit and pick it out before closing the fuselage, and mask the clear glazing while spraying. The gloss naval Glossy Sea Blue scheme comes out best on a smooth surface - even out the joints, apply primer, spray the colors with an airbrush and apply the decals over a gloss varnish. Highlight the panel lines only discreetly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
