The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is an American twin-engine carrier machine for fighter as well as attack tasks, an enlarged and reworked development version of the older Hornet. The letter E denotes the single-seat configuration, the letter F the two-seat one. The nozzles at the tail of the airplane change their cross section according to the regime of flight and draw in to a narrowed position once the engines are shut down. It is exactly like this that machines parked on a deck or on a ramp look, that is, in the situation modelers build most often.
The set brings replacement exhaust nozzles in the closed position for a model in 1:48 scale. It is used where the rim of a nozzle is to be thinner and the inside better worked out than a part made up of two halves allows.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the thin rim is not damaged. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. They are painted separately while they are still loose, because once the tail is finished you will no longer get in well with a brush or with an airbrush. The inside and the surroundings of the nozzles suit metallic shades supplemented with a darker toning that suggests the sooting from the exhaust gases.
This is an accessory set for building a model. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
