Big Ed 1:48 Fairchild A-10A is a combined package of Eduard accessory sets for the 1:48 kit of the A-10A attack aircraft. It serves to equip a plastic model further, not to build one from nothing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Big Ed 1:48 Fairchild A-10A package from the Czech maker Eduard brings several separately sold accessories for one kit together in a single common bag. The contents are metal and masking elements with which an already purchased plastic model is given detail that an injection mold cannot produce.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II came about in the 1970s for the close support of ground troops and entered US Air Force service in 1977. The whole design was subordinated to the seven-barrel GAU-8/A cannon, around which the machine is literally built, and to resistance against fire from the ground: the pilot is covered by a titanium bathtub, the controls are duplicated and both engines sit high above the tail out of reach of fragments. The letter A marks the original version with classic dial instruments, that is the form in which the aircraft also served over Kuwait and Iraq in 1991. The later conversion to the C version brought screens and new avionics, and that is why accessories for the two versions do not match.
The metal panels are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bent in a bending tool or between two blades, and joined with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Color-printed parts are not sanded before seating. The places they go to are best cleared of the molded relief first.
The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not contained here, unless stated otherwise.
