A narrower Zoom photo-etched set from Eduard for a 1:48 model of the Fairey Fulmar Mk.II carrier-based fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched accessory for building a 1:48 model of the British Fairey Fulmar Mk.II carrier aircraft. The code places the item in the Zoom range, which Eduard runs alongside the more extensive fret of the same name. Zoom is not a reduction in a different scale but a narrower selection of metal parts; the scale stays 1:48.
If you want to work on the model in many places and have the time to build, reach for the more extensive fret. If you are after a quicker build, a model that is already largely finished, or a first acquaintance with working in metal, Zoom makes more sense. Exactly what the fret holds is given in the manufacturer's instructions; use them to decide in advance which places on the model you really want to change.
The Fulmar was a two-seat carrier fighter of the Fleet Air Arm, in service from 1940. The second man in the rear cockpit worked as an observer and navigator, which over the open sea was worth more than agility, and the long range made the machine a reliable escort for convoys. The Mk.II is a later and more powerful form of the same aircraft.
For builders who are after a targeted improvement without the full fret, and for those who are starting out with photo-etching. The more extensive set of the same name carries the manufacturer's part number 491467, so the code is what tells them apart. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
