A set of waterslide decals from the British manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. It offers several color schemes for models of three carrier-borne aircraft of the British Fleet Air Arm from the turn of the 1930s and 1940s: the Gloster Sea Gladiator Mk.I biplane, the Fairey Fulmar fighter and the Blackburn Skua dive bomber. Intended for plastic kits of these types in that scale.
At the start of the Second World War the Fleet Air Arm put a mixture of older biplanes and new monoplanes into service. The Sea Gladiator was the naval version of the well-known biplane, the Fulmar a two-seat carrier fighter and the Skua a combined fighter and dive bomber. These machines operated from British aircraft carriers and wore the naval camouflage and national markings of the day.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish so that no matte border forms around the motifs. Soak the item, move it into place, blot the water away and settle it with a decal softener so that it conforms to the engraving and the fabric surfaces of the biplane as well. Once dry, go over it with a varnish of the sheen you want.
This is a standalone set of decals, not a kit. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
