This is not a model and not a part of one, but an aid for painting. The set holds pre-cut self-adhesive masks that are stuck onto the glazed and other surfaces of a model, so that after spraying they stay clean and the frames have crisp edges. Masking an intricate canopy by hand with tape takes hours and the result tends to be inaccurate, while a die-cut mask shortens that work to minutes.
New Ware grades its sets by extent. The BASIC level is the basic variant and aims at the external masking of glazed parts and wheels. The higher levels, that is ADVANCED and EXPERT, extend the scope, and EXPERT additionally covers the inner faces of the canopy. The designation of the level is therefore a distinguishing detail between the individual items, not a repetition of the same goods. Choose according to how thoroughly you want to mask the cabin.
The Focke-Wulf 1000 Fast Bomber is one of the German projected designs for a fast bomber from the end of the Second World War. It stayed at the design stage and no machine ever flew, so modelers meet it exclusively as what is known as a Luft project. Models of these machines have been taken up by builders drawn to how equipment would have looked if it had been built.
First clear the glazed parts of grease and let them dry thoroughly. Take the masks off the sheet with pointed tweezers, lay them in place and press them down well around their whole perimeter, so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats, because a heavy coat creates a step at the edge. Take a mask off as soon as the paint has set, not after it has cured completely, and the edge will then be cleaner.
The masks are an accessory to a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
