A plastic kit model of the German fighter Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 in 1:48 scale from Eduard's Weekend Edition line. In keeping with the economy Weekend edition, the box contains plastic parts and Eduard decals. Pre-painted photo-etch, masks and resin are not included in the package. The A-8 was the most numerously produced of all the versions of the A series.
The Fw 190 was a single-seat Luftwaffe fighter powered by an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine, which gave it its characteristically robust nose. The A-8 version of the later part of the war represented the peak of the A series: it was the most widely used, had heavy onboard armament and also carried a drop tank for greater range. It was used for fighter work and for the Defense of the Reich against Allied bomber formations.
We recommend working with liquid cement for plastic and dry-fitting the fuselage and engine section before gluing. Because the Weekend edition contains no masks, prepare your own masking tape for the canopy glazing. The typical German camouflage suits an airbrush and preshading of the transitions; pick out the panel lines and riveting with a fine wash. A good primer helps the paints adhere.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
