The SPACE range set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard consists of color three-dimensional decals that are placed directly onto the parts of a plastic kit. The range concentrates above all on cockpit equipment, where a finished color print with embossed relief replaces laborious painting of instruments and panels. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a model in 1:48 scale.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 was a single-seat fighter with a BMW 801 radial engine. The R2 designation stands for a factory modification kit that replaced the 20 mm wing cannon with 30 mm weapons. The heavier armament raised the weight and worsened the agility, so aircraft modified this way were used against large aerial targets rather than for combat with fighters. The cockpit layout corresponds to the late production series of the A family.
Leave the surface under the parts smooth and painted so that the part adheres without bubbles. Moisten only the backing paper under the part, lift the parts with tweezers and soak the excess moisture away with the corner of a paper towel. Fix them with PVA glue (white glue); a decal softener does not belong here, as its chemicals attack the printed resin. The finished interior is usually not clear-coated, so that the color print and the relief are preserved. Finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied without a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
