1:48 Fokker D.VIIF is an Eduard masking set for a model of the German Fokker D.VIIF fighter biplane in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for spraying paint cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an airplane model but a set of masking templates for one. Eduard, the Czech manufacturer from Obrnice near Most, cuts its masks from yellow kabuki masking paper: it holds well, takes a mild curve without creasing and leaves no sticky traces on the paint once removed. The set is tied to a model of the Fokker D.VIIF in 1:48 scale, because the outlines of the templates have to sit exactly on the particular parts.
The Fokker D.VII was one of the most feared German fighters of the closing stage of the First World War. The version designated D.VIIF was given the more powerful BMW IIIa inline engine, with which the aircraft climbed markedly better and remained usable even at high altitude, where the older machines with the Mercedes engine were already running out of breath. The respect the type commanded is shown by the fact that it was named specifically among the equipment Germany had to hand over to the victorious powers under the armistice terms of November 1918.
For modelers who want sharp transitions between colors and do not want to lose time cutting tape by hand, and for anyone who builds aircraft of the First World War in 1:48 scale. Precisely shaped templates save time above all on small circular areas, where tape is very hard to cut.
