Hauler 1:48 German FIRE EXTINGUISHER Early is a resin accessory: a German vehicle fire extinguisher in the early form, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory from the Czech maker Hauler. It is not a kit but one item of vehicle equipment: a fire extinguisher in the form corresponding to the earlier shape, which appears on German vehicles before the later type supplied in a separate set. It is precisely this distinction between the early and the later form that is the reason it pays to buy the accessory deliberately according to the vehicle you are building.
German vehicles of the Second World War went through continuous changes of equipment, and the fire extinguisher is among the parts by which it can be told from a period photograph what period a vehicle comes from. A modeler building a particular machine from a photograph therefore needs not just any fire extinguisher but the right one. The set designated as the early form is intended for the earlier period; for later machines a separate variant exists.
Wash the resin in warm soapy water before working, which rids it of mold release agent. Cut the casting block off rather than breaking it, and level the area with a file; sanding is better done wet and with protection for your breathing. It is glued with cyanoacrylate, as ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Apply a primer before painting. Choose the color according to a photograph and according to the overall treatment of the vehicle, as on so small a part the most important thing is that it does not overwhelm; too saturated a color in 1:48 scale lacks scale attenuation. Pick the holder and the straps out with a thin dark wash and suggest the edges with a dry brush.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
