A detail set from the Czech maker Special Hobby in 1:48 scale. It represents a period transport box with single-shot antitank weapons, that is a typical piece of equipment which, on a vehicle model, on the bed of a truck or in a diorama scene, gives a scene both scale and a story. It is not a kit of a vehicle or of figures, but an accessory in its own right.
The Panzerfaust was a German single-shot recoilless antitank weapon of the Second World War. It consisted of a simple launching tube with a shaped charge warhead, which the crew threw away after firing. The individual versions were told apart by effective range, and the weapon was built in great numbers. It was carried to the units in wooden boxes, which then often appeared stacked at defensive positions, on vehicles and in supply areas - and it is this feature that the set captures.
Look the parts over carefully first and free them of flash. Use glue to suit the material: liquid modeling cement on plastic, super glue on resin parts. It is advisable to wash resin in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting. The base is formed by an even primer, onto which comes the wooden shade of the box and a darker tone for the weapons themselves. Credibility is given by a dry brush on the edges of the boards, a dark wash in the gaps and fine pigments at the bottom if the box stands on the ground. Do not simulate lettering and markings on the box where the subject does not have them.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
