German military boots in 1:48 scale are a small accessory for figures – separate footwear for the conversion of figures and for small things in a scene.

This is an accessory for figures, not a kit. It offers German military footwear in 1:48 scale. It is used in two ways: either the original legs of a figure, or rather the footwear, are exchanged during a conversion into a different pose, or the boots are laid into a scene as a set-aside object – beside a bunk, by a stove, on the bed of a wagon. It is precisely such small things that give a diorama a credible background.
On figures, military footwear is one of the most easily recognized marks of a period: it differs in the height of the shaft, the shape of the toe and the sole, and together with the headgear it gives away fastest which army and time a figure belongs to. In the German army, lower laced boots, often with gaiters, were worn alongside tall boots. Check the pattern of the footwear on the packaging and compare it with the equipment of the rest of the figure.
Cut the castings off the casting block with a fine-toothed saw and level the cuts. Wash them in lukewarm water with a detergent before painting because of the release agent from the mold. They are glued with super glue; with a conversion, make the cut above the ankle rather than lower and then cover the joint with the trouser leg or with filler. Leather looks best over a matte base: a darker shade into the folds, a lighter one on the raised places and only a very thin layer of dust on the sole and the lower part of the shaft.
This is an accessory for figures, not a kit on its own. Paints, glue and the figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
