1:48 Gloster Javelin FAW.9/9R is a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in 1:48 scale for a model of the Javelin FAW.9/9R type. It is not a model but an accessory for painting the glazing and the wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks in kabuki tape for a model of the Gloster Javelin FAW.9, or FAW.9R, fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks make it easier to spray the frames of the glazed cockpit and the wheel discs cleanly, without laborious cutting. It is not a kit — it is an accessory used while painting a finished or part-built model. Eduard is a Czech maker of modeling accessories.
The Gloster Javelin was a British twin-engined fighter with a delta wing and a high-set tail, intended for all-weather interception. The FAW.9 version was given afterburners for more thrust, and the FAW.9R variant a fixed in-flight refueling probe on top of that. It served with the Royal Air Force in the 1950s and 1960s.
The pre-cut masks in self-adhesive kabuki tape are stuck onto the cockpit glazing and onto the wheel discs, pressed into the engraved lines of the frames with a pointed wooden stick, and then the area is sprayed. Once the paint has dried the tape is lifted off and the framing stays clean and crisp. An airbrush gives an even coat. The masks will bound the framing of the two-seat cockpit accurately.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package and are obtained separately.
