MASTER 1:48 Gloster Meteor — Pitot Tube is a turned brass replacement part for the coarse plastic part in the kit. Not an airplane model, but an accessory for a kit you already own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned brass pitot tube for models of the British jet fighter Gloster Meteor in 1:48 scale from MASTER. A pitot tube is an airspeed sensor — on the real aircraft it is a thin, slender tube extended into undisturbed airflow. And that is exactly the part that usually comes off worst in a kit: the plastic tube is necessarily thick, often slightly bent, and snaps off easily, especially when handling the model. Turned metal solves this problem — the part is thin, straight, precise and sturdy, and it installs within minutes. This is not an airplane model — the kit itself is not included in the package.
The Gloster Meteor was a British twin-engine jet fighter and the only Allied jet aircraft to see combat during the Second World War. It made its mark chiefly in Britain's defense against V-1 flying bombs, where its speed was enough to catch them. After the war it served for many years in numerous countries as a fighter, fighter-bomber and trainer, and it became one of the symbols of the transition from propeller to jet power.
For modelers building the Gloster Meteor in 1:48 scale who want to eliminate a typical weak point in plastic kits and get a sharp, durable detail. Installation is simple and manageable even for a less experienced modeler — all it takes is a sharp knife, a mini drill and cyanoacrylate.
This is an add-on part, not an airplane model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
