A masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the German Gotha Go 244B transport aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is the basic version, which deals with the outer side of the glazing. In the same line there is also a variant designated TFace, which is additionally prepared for the inner side of the framing.
Degrease the glazing and let it dry completely. Carry the pieces of the mask with tweezers and press them down all around the perimeter, ideally with a toothpick, so that the edge adheres perfectly. Apply the paint in several thin coats, not in one heavy one, otherwise it will run under the edge. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried and pull it away from the framing at an angle, not straight up.
The Gotha Go 244 came about as the powered version of the Go 242 cargo glider. A pair of engines made it a transport aircraft in its own right, which did not have to wait for a tug, but the performance stayed modest and its use was limited. The twin tail boom structure and the glazed pilot's cockpit in the front part of the fuselage are characteristic. That glazing is exactly the most laborious part of the painting when building the model.
It is a masking add-on for painting a model and is sold separately. Paints and the target model are not included in the package.
