This combined Black Dog item is meant for anyone who does not want to deal with fitting the aircraft out piece by piece. It is a set that works on the interior spaces, not a whole aircraft, so a plastic kit in 1:48 scale remains the basis of the build.
The Mohawk was unusual in that it was operated not by the air force but by the ground army, which used it to provide its own battlefield observation. The combination of turboprop power, sturdy landing gear and a glazed cockpit let it work close to the front and from strips where a jet machine could not have landed. The type carried its triple tail through its whole career, and together with the bulged cockpit side panels it is its unmistakable identifying mark.
With a larger accessory it is worth the effort to lay the parts out according to where they belong before you start gluing at all. Finish and paint the interior assemblies before you close the airframe up. Prepare a lighter base for painting and tune the depth with a dark wash and a light accent on the edges. If you plan to open several panels at once, check beforehand that the model will stay stable on its stand.
