A photo-etched set of landing flaps in 1:48 scale from Eduard for the Grumman TBF-1C Avenger carrier torpedo bomber. It is not a model but a detail accessory of fine metal parts intended for the Academy plastic kit. The set makes it possible to build the flaps more faithfully and with the real internal structure that a plastic mold cannot capture.
The Grumman TBF Avenger was a rugged carrier torpedo bomber of the US Navy of the Second World War period. The TBF-1C version carried additional armament and fuel; the Avenger made its name above all in the fighting in the Pacific.
The set replaces or supplements the flap parts with finely embossed photo-etched elements with a faithful rib structure. Photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife, formed with a bending tool and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The result comes out best after painting and highlighting with a wash.
This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for finishing one. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
