This accessory from the Brassin line by the Czech maker Eduard holds detailed resin landing gear wheels with a patterned (treaded) tire for a model of the Grumman TBF-1C/TBM-3 Avenger carrier bomber and torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model; it is a replacement for the plastic wheels from the base kit.
The wheels carry fine detail on the hub and on the patterned tread and are usually cast with a realistic flattening where they meet the ground. The patterned variant matches tires with a pronounced tread; the set normally holds the main wheels and the tail wheel and often a masking template for the tires as well.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires dark gray and set the hubs apart; the mask included makes a clean separation of the colors easier.
The accessory is supplied as a resin set. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
