The Big Ed 1:48 Hawker Hunter GA.11 pack from Eduard brings together add-on sets for a model of the naval version of the Hunter. The model of the aircraft itself is not in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
Big Ed is the way Eduard sells several of its add-on sets for one type together in a single package. This item is meant for a model of the Hawker Hunter in the GA.11 version in 1:48 scale. What exactly is inside is stated on the box — the manufacturer changes the make-up of the packs from time to time.
The GA.11 was a single-seat variant of the Hunter for the Royal Navy, created by converting airframes built earlier. The navy used it mainly for training and for providing target duties for the fleet and the air force, a role in which the machines went on flying long after the Hunter had disappeared from front-line squadrons. The basis stayed the same as on the fighter versions: an aerodynamically clean airframe with a swept wing and a Rolls-Royce Avon turbojet.
The set is for a modeler who already has experience of working etching and wants to take the detail on a Hunter model further without buying the individual sets one at a time. For a complete beginner, working with small metal is difficult, and it is worth trying it out first on a model that matters less.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
