The number FS15056 in the name is a designation from the American Federal Standard color standard, so you can compare the shade against period color charts. The manufacturer gives the degree of sheen right in the name: this is the gloss variant, not the matte camouflage blue of upper surfaces.
On a camouflaged aircraft a dark saturated blue tends to be the color of the markings. It appears in the ring of the roundels, in the stripes on the fuselage and on the rudder, in the borders of squadron emblems and in the all-over finishes of demonstration and training machines. The gloss surface matches that: a marking laid on matte camouflage is meant to be legible and to have a surface finish of its own, different from the area around it.
A dark saturated blue is the most demanding shade you can meet on a wing. An extensive smooth area hides nothing, and in gloss every overlap of the coat and every irregularity in the base shows as a lighter trace. It pays, therefore, to lay the area out in advance and let the overlaps fall into engraved lines or under a later marking. Where a blue stripe crosses the dividing line between the upper and the lower surfaces, run its boundary along the real edge of the airframe, not along the outline from a drawing.
