A detailed resin part of a rear-view mirror of circular shape, which fits onto the canopy frame. It is NOT an aircraft model but a small accessory to the base kit of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter. The replacement gives the canopy a fine, thin-walled detail that a plastic part will not offer.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British fighter that bore the main weight of the Battle of Britain in 1940. The rear-view mirror above the windscreen helped the pilot keep watch on the space behind the aircraft. The round shape matches some of the standards that were in use.
Cut the small part off the casting block carefully, wash it free of mold release agent and glue it with a small amount of cyanoacrylate. The face of the mirror can be rendered gloss after spraying or finished with a piece of gloss foil.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and, as an aftermarket set, it calls for a more experienced hand. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
