Masking film in 1:48 for the cannon-armed version of the Hurricane. It masks the outer surfaces of the glazing, complemented by two national insignia stencils.
Responsibility details are not available.
The version with the letter C received four Hispano cannon in place of the battery of machine guns, and that changed its purpose. Against fighters the type was no longer enough in 1941, but against freight trains, boats and trucks one burst was more than enough. The squadrons therefore moved to night intruder sorties over occupied France, where the machines waited by the railway lines for lit targets. Hence the nickname night intruder that the aircraft with black undersides were given at the time.
This type found a second life far from Europe. Over Malta it defended the island at a time when both fuel and spare parts were running out there. In North Africa it flew with a sand filter under the nose, which enlarged its silhouette and reduced its speed but lengthened the life of the engine. In Burma it served to the end of the war as an attack aircraft against Japanese positions and supply trails. A stronger Merlin of the twenty series supplied the power needed for carrying bomb racks.
The films enclosed mask the glazing from outside and two stencils for the national insignia belong with them. Spraying through a stencil holds in the same layer as the camouflage around it, so once matted down there is no telling where the insignia begins. The material is laid straight onto the clear part and, once the finish has cured, comes away with no tacky traces.
The shape of the cut follows one release of the model. Lay the film against the clear part, then, before you set about the build. Neither a kit nor clear coats belong to the delivery.
