A detailed resin accessory with a rectangular rear-view mirror for the British Hawker Hurricane fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an aftermarket part from the Quickboost brand. The small, sharply cast part replaces the coarser or missing mirror of the base kit and looks faithful once the reflecting face is added.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter which, together with the Spitfire, bore the weight of the Battle of Britain. The rear-view mirror above the windscreen frame gave the pilot a view of the space behind the aircraft, and it is a prominent, clearly visible detail that catches the eye on a model.
Wash the part free of mold release agent residue and cut it off the casting block carefully with a sharp knife; it is small, so take your time. Glue it with a small amount of cyanoacrylate. The face of the mirror can be suggested with a gloss silver paint or with a small piece of mirror foil. Protect your airways while sanding and apply a primer before painting.
The accessory does not hold the model itself, glue or paints. It is supplied as a resin casting to finish an existing kit with.
