The Elefant is one of the most massive machines of its day, and its broad horizontal surfaces positively invite something to lie on them. The real subject

The Sd.Kfz. 184 was built on the chassis left over from an unsuccessful heavy tank design and carried a long 88 mm gun with outstanding range. It first went into action in the summer of 1943 at Kursk under the original name Ferdinand, and it turned out to lack any defense against infantry at close quarters. The rebuilt machines were given a machine gun in the front of the hull and a commander's cupola, and under the name Elefant they finished their service mainly in Italy.

Working with large castings

On larger pieces expect a more massive casting block. Level what is left after cutting on sandpaper laid on a flat board so that the part seats on its whole surface. Try the assembly dry before gluing and mark the position with a pencil. The German dark yellow base color is translucent in a thin coat, so a light undercoat belongs beneath it. Castings with deep relief also call for a finer spray, otherwise the coat settles on the edges and rounds them off.
