An accessory photo-etched set meant for the inside of the plastic kit of the American HMMWV cross-country vehicle in the M1025 version in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a model: the parts are built into the Tamiya kit, and at the stage when the body is still open. A set for the external detail exists in the same range, and the two can be used alongside each other.
Vehicles with a large glazed area and an open weapon station on the roof have their interior constantly in view, unlike closed combat vehicles. A coarsely molded instrument panel or thick brackets and consoles therefore give a model away even after perfect paintwork. In 1:48 scale photo-etched metal keeps a thickness that an injection mold cannot manage for technological reasons, and the interior gains depth at a stroke.
Deal with the interior first and plan ahead: once you close the body up, you will no longer reach the parts. The proven order is to degrease, go over with primer, spray the base interior shade, work the details up with a brush, add a dark wash into the angles and a dry brush on the edges, and only then glue the glazing in. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue applied with a piece of wire, not straight from the bottle - excess glue around clear parts fogs the plastic. Do the dry run with the body in place, so that you know what will be visible once it is closed and what you need not bother with.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
