Montex 1:48 I-153 Chaika is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the ICM plastic kit. It is not a model - it is an accessory that makes spraying the small transparent areas precisely easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks for a model of the biplane fighter Polikarpov I-153 in 1:48 scale. There are no plastic parts in the package - the set is an accessory to a kit you have already bought and its shapes are derived from the particular ICM model.
The I-153 was a Soviet single-seat biplane fighter from the end of the 1930s. Its recognition features are the upper wing cranked into the shape of a gull, which gave the type its nickname, and a retractable main undercarriage, unusual on a biplane. Power was provided by a radial engine of the M-62 series, and the structure was mixed with a tubular fuselage framework. The type represented the last stage in the development of Soviet biplane fighters before monoplanes replaced them.
A biplane in 1:48 scale means small areas and many small parts - and the masks tend to be correspondingly miniature. Prepare good light, a magnifier and pointed tweezers, with which you always take hold of a template by its edge, never by its adhesive side. Never lay a template on loose; first set one edge against the frame and only then tip it down. While masking, secure the model so that you do not have to touch the struts and the rigging between the wings - they are the most fragile parts of the build. Choose thin paint and spray in short bursts, so that the stream of air does not lift a small mask.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
