This set from the maker Aires is not an airplane model but a detailed resin replacement for the landing gear bays for building the Israeli IAI Kfir fighter in the C2 and C7 versions in 1:48 scale. The cast bays carry rich detail of structures, plumbing and stiffeners, which on injection-molded plastic is missing or simplified.
The IAI Kfir is an Israeli multirole fighter derived from the airframe of the Dassault Mirage and powered by a General Electric J79 engine. The landing gear bays are among the closely watched areas, especially on models with the bays left open.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The bays stand out once the base color has been applied, with shading and a light patina that brings out the structure.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
