This set brings resin castings of the electronics service bays for the Swedish Saab JAS-39C Gripen fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory thanks to which the machine can be built with its equipment bays open, as during ground maintenance. The castings carry fine detail of the boxes, the wiring and the inner walls that a plastic kit as a rule does not have.
The Gripen is a single-engine multirole fighter designed with an emphasis on easy and quick ground handling. A number of equipment and service bays are reached through hinged covers, which suits dioramas with the machine under maintenance particularly well.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to deal with mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw or snap them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The corresponding openings have to be cut into the model according to the instructions; work carefully and clean up the surfaces. Shade the interior with a base color, then pick out the individual boxes and weather them lightly so that the detail shows.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
