The designation basic set says what kind of accessory this is: it is the starting photo-etch for the vehicle concerned, which the manufacturer follows up with further separate sets holding individual accessories. The set is cut for a specific Hasegawa kit and the model itself is not in the package. On a vehicle as small as the jeep, photo-etch makes particularly good sense - in 1:48 scale the whole vehicle measures only a few centimeters, and plastic parts that are meant to represent sheet or wire come out necessarily many times thicker than reality would call for.
The light cross-country vehicle of the quarter-ton class, commonly known as the jeep, was built from the early 1940s in two main forms by different manufacturers, though they were almost identical in design. An open body with no doors, a folding windshield, a canvas roof and all-wheel drive made it a universal means of transport, used for signals, reconnaissance, evacuating the wounded and towing light weapons. Hundreds of thousands were built, and after the war the vehicles spread into civilian use all over the world.
A small vehicle means small parts - expect a number of them to be only a few millimeters across. Work over a tray with a rim, ideally over a light surface where you will see a part that flies off. Before you start, degrease the whole fret and from then on touch it only with tweezers. Run the bends along the scored line and exactly on the edge, because on small parts every degree of deviation shows. Apply super glue with the tip of a pin from a drop on a tile, never straight from the bottle. An open body means that you can see inside, so fit the set in order from the interior outwards and paint in stages before you close the vehicle up.
The set holds photo-etched parts only and is supplied unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
