The 20 l can in the British form, 1:48 scale

This item is an accessory set in 1:48 scale with a model of the twenty-liter can in the British form. It is not a vehicle model but a small part with which the gear on a vehicle model or the contents of a diorama scene is completed.

The real subject

The twenty-liter can with three handles and cross-shaped swages spread to both sides of the front during the Second World War, and the British version differed from the original pattern mainly in the form of its closure and in its markings. On a model a correctly chosen can is therefore one of the small things that set a British vehicle apart from equipment of other origin, even when it is painted similarly.

Usage tips

• The cans belong in the brackets on the fenders and at the rear, or stacked in the bed and on a trailer. Try dry that they seat in the bracket.
• Clip the small parts off over a tray, otherwise they will fly away. Degrease them and lay down a base coat before painting.
• The swages come out with a dark wash, and the edges and handles are worth bringing out with a light dry brush. A can tends to be more scuffed than the surrounding surface of the vehicle.
• Check the markings and lettering against the particular subject; the set is a part, not documentation.
