JP233 dispenser pod 1:48 is a resin set of the underfuselage pod from Eduard. It is not an aircraft kit or photo-etch — it is a store that is glued under the fuselage of an already built model.

The set brings a cast version of the large pod carried under the fuselage of a strike aircraft. It is a part where resin clearly beats plastic: the pod has a great deal of external detail, hinged panels and edges that an injection mold captures only softly. The casting is also often arranged so that the parting seam running the whole length of the body disappears. The result is a store that looks like equipment on the model, not like a smooth box. The maker is the Czech company Eduard.
The JP233 was a British underfuselage dispenser system intended to disrupt runways. It was carried by the British swing-wing strike aircraft and used at low level, typically in pairs under the fuselage. Its characteristic feature is the large rectangular dispenser bays in the lower part — and it is exactly those that make the pod a rewarding and easily recognizable feature on a model.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, otherwise the paint will not hold on the remains of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, then level the surface by wet sanding with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue; cement for plastic does not dissolve resin. The pod is fairly heavy, so support the joint with the fuselage with a wire pin — simply gluing it to the surface will break away in time. Apply a primer before painting. Stores of this type are usually dirtied by service, so a light dusting and a dark wash in the panel seams pay off.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
