A resin accessory from the Quickboost (Aires) brand in 1:48 scale holding the exhaust system in the type C pattern for the night version of the Junkers Ju 87D-5N. It is not a model of the airplane but a small replacement set. The night exhausts have flame dampers, which shaded the glow of the exhaust gases so that it would not dazzle the pilot in the dark and the aircraft would be less conspicuous. The finely cast part reads more convincingly on a model than injection-molded plastic.
The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was a German dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War with fixed landing gear and an inverted gull wing. The D-5N version was reworked for night work. It is precisely the shape of the exhaust shrouds that tells the individual patterns apart (type A, B, C).
Separate the parts carefully from the casting block, wash them free of mold release residue and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The exhausts as well as the flame dampers come into their own in dark iron with a hint of burnt metal; protect your airways while sanding.
The model of the airplane itself is not included in the package. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included.
