An add-on set of the nose radar bay with its cover for the Ka-52M attack helicopter in 1:48 scale, resin-printed parts included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kamov Ka-52M is an upgraded version of the two-seat attack helicopter with coaxial contra-rotating rotors, which is why it has no tail rotor. Unlike most attack helicopters, its crew sits side by side, so the cockpit is wide and low. The nose carries a cover over the radar bay, a place that can be shown open on the model.
The set brings the nose radar bay together with the nose cover itself and resin-printed parts that fill in the equipment inside that bay. It is built for the Ka-52 kits by Quinta in 1:48 scale. It lets you hinge the cover open or take it off and reveal what is underneath, a rewarding detail on a finished model that an ordinary kit does not offer.
The printed parts carry the remains of print supports. Cut them off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the mark carefully so that the fine detail is not lost. The parts are not polystyrene, so do not use plastic cement on them; super glue holds them. Wash and degrease them before painting to remove print resin residue so that the paint does not peel off. Dry-fit the small parts first and go through the assembly sequence in the manufacturer's instructions, because an open bay is hard to correct afterwards.
The set is aimed at modelers who want to build the model with the nose open and show something that is normally hidden. It calls for patience and for work with small parts, so it suits a more experienced builder.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
