A Kh-25ML guided missile with an APU-68 launch rail in 1:48 scale is a resin set of external stores for kits of combat aircraft. According to the name it is a four-piece package. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is an add-on resin set of external stores, not a kit of an aircraft. It contains a missile of the Kh-25 family in the ML variant and with it the universal APU-68 launcher, that is the element by which the missile is attached to the pylon. The name gives four pieces. The resin casting has a clean body with no mold seam and exactly shaped fins, which on long slender bodies shows at first glance.
The Kh-25 is a family of Soviet short-range tactical guided missiles produced in several variants differing in their guidance. The ML variant is semi-active laser guided and is told from the others by the treatment of the nose section with its optical element. The missiles were carried on the universal APU-68 launcher, which was common to several types of store. The exact position of the launch rail and its distance from the pylon matter for a faithful look just as much as the missile itself.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with superglue; cement for plastic does not react with resin. Apply a primer before painting. It is wise to finish the optical head last, so that it does not get clogged with paint or pigment. Paint the stores separately from the aircraft and seat them on as the last step of the build.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
