Rob Taurus 1:48 Ki-100 Ko is a vacuum-formed clear canopy for a model of the Japanese fighter. It is not an aircraft model, but an accessory that improves the look of the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a vacuum-formed (drawn) clear canopy in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Rob Taurus. It is NOT an aircraft kit, but a replacement cockpit part for a model of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-100 fighter in the Ko version. The material is clear and thin-walled, so once fitted it looks more convincing in scale than thicker standard parts.
The Kawasaki Ki-100 (in army terms the Type 5 fighter) was created during the Second World War by converting the airframe of the Ki-61 Hien to a Mitsubishi radial engine. The Ki-100 Ko version was the first production variant with the raised fuselage spine, the so-called razorback. The aircraft stood out for its pleasant handling and agility.
Cut the part carefully from the moldable sheet slightly outside the outline and sand it down to an exact fit. Bond it with a glue for clear parts or with a thin gel super glue, so that it does not fog. Mask the frames before spraying. The thin material also makes it possible to show the canopy in the open position.
This is a stand-alone accessory (a canopy), not a complete model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
