Rob Taurus 1:48 Ki-61 is a vacuum-formed clear canopy for building the Japanese fighter. It is not an aircraft model, but a detail-up accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Rob Taurus, intended for building the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61 fighter. It replaces the standard cockpit canopy with a thinner and optically cleaner part. It is not an aircraft model, but a detail accessory.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War, known to the Allies as the Tony. As the only series-built Japanese fighter with a liquid-cooled V engine and a slender fuselage, it resembled European machines. The Ki-61 served in the defense of the Japanese home islands and in the Pacific.
The molding is cut out along the outline with a sharp knife, and the edges are then sanded and polished. The thin part makes it possible to show the canopy open with the interior exposed. It is bonded with a glue for clear parts; the frames are masked before spraying.
This is a stand-alone accessory. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
