This resin detail set brings separately cast movable control surfaces in 1:48 scale for a model of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien fighter (Allied code name Tony). It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory intended to replace the parts that are cast solid in the neutral position in the base plastic kit.
The replacement rudders, flaps and other movable surfaces are made with a fine structure of ribbing and fabric covering. Because they are cast separately, they can be fitted in a deflected position, which gives the finished model the realism and liveliness that a parked aircraft with its surfaces at rest often had.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts and cut them from the casting blocks. Attach them to the model with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Use respiratory protection when sanding and adjusting the mating faces. Try the exact seating dry before gluing.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
