A detail set of main landing gear wheels with longitudinal tire tread, made by 3D printing in resin in 1:48 scale by Quinta Studio. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory with which you replace the plastic wheels from the box and gain a more faithful surface on the tires and the hubs. The set is conceived to cover the whole family of Soviet fighters, the LaGG-3, the MiG-3, the La-5, the La-7, the La-9, the Yak-7 and the Yak-9, and it is intended for models from various manufacturers.
Resin wheels tend to come with a sharper rendering of the tread and finer hub detail than injected plastic allows. Judge the exact number of pieces and the contents of the package by the particular set.
First wash the parts to remove print resin residue, cut them off the print supports and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting; bring the tire to life with dark gray (not black) and a light dust wash.
This is a resin accessory. The base aircraft model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
