1:48 Lancaster B Mk. I wheels are resin wheels for the model of the Avro Lancaster B Mk. I bomber in 1:48 scale. A replacement for the plastic wheels from the kit, not a model in its own right.

On large bombers the wheels are one of the first places where the quality of a model shows: they are conspicuous, they are looked at from above and from the side, and the plastic parts from a kit tend to have a mold seam running exactly across the tread pattern. The resin replacement is cast in one piece, so the seam falls away and both the tread pattern and the hub detail are sharper. The set is an accessory for the plastic model of the Avro Lancaster B Mk. I in 1:48 scale; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package. The contents of the package are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set.
The Avro Lancaster B Mk. I was a British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines and a long undivided bomb bay. The machine had a high takeoff weight, matched by a rugged main landing gear with two large wheels retracting into the inner engine nacelles. It is precisely the size of the wheels that makes this accessory a clearly visible change on a model.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap because of the mold release agent. On wheels the casting block tends to sit on the contact face with the ground: cut it off with a fine saw and level the area by sanding wet, with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tires in a gray-black shade rather than pure black, as the result looks more convincing; set the hubs apart and bring the transition between hub and tire out with a dark wash. Apply dust pigments only once the varnish has dried.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
