A set of 3D-printed color interior on decal paper from Quinta Studio. This is neither an airplane model nor a kit, but a detail accessory that completes the cockpit with finished color parts. The technology joins the three-dimensional depth of resin parts with the simplicity of colored photo-etch: the displays and dials are covered with a layer of gloss varnish and look glazed, and the lettering and controls are printed straight in color.
The F-16C is a single-seat multirole fighter nicknamed Fighting Falcon, or Viper. This single-engined aircraft with a frameless bubble canopy and a side-mounted control stick spread to a number of countries and carries out tasks from air combat to ground attack. Its modern cockpit with glass displays is a rewarding target for color detailing.
The parts are thicker than a classic waterslide decal, but they are transferred in the same way: the sheet is dipped briefly in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and the element is slid off the backing paper. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on gloss varnish; on intricate places a drop of cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) helps. Do not use a decal softener or setting solution at all - their chemicals would damage the printed resin of the element. The surfaces are pressed carefully into the shape of the instrument panel and the side consoles. The set markedly shortens the time spent painting the cockpit.
The accessory is supplied on its own and contains neither the model nor glue. Compatibility with a particular kit is worth verifying in advance.
