A decal set of markings in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a model, nor an interior set: these are classic waterslide decals with national insignia, codes and personal markings of several American P-38J Lightning fighters committed over Western Europe. The set is intended to complement a plastic P-38J kit in this scale, typically the Tamiya one.
The Lockheed P-38J Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter with its characteristic twin-boom layout and a central nacelle for the pilot. The J version brought better engine cooling and a larger fuel load. Machines committed over Europe wore both bare metal finishes and olive green camouflage with a light underside.
Apply the decals over a glossy, smooth clear coat, so that no silvered edges appear. Dip the part briefly, slide it off the backing into place and press the excess water out. Once dry, draw a matte or satin clear coat over them. For perfect adhesion into engraved lines, decal softening solutions help.
This is an accessory (decals), not a kit. The aircraft model itself, paints and glue are not included; the set serves to complement a matching kit.
