The real subject

The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star was a two-seat jet trainer derived from the F-80 fighter. It became one of the most widespread trainers of its era and taught generations of jet pilots in many countries. The late ejection seat differed from the early types in a number of modifications.

Use and tips

• Paint the seat with a base shade first and give the areas under the decal a gloss coat.
• Cut the parts out, dip them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide them into place.
• Press the part down over the edges and the buckles with a soft cotton swab; whether a decal softener can be used on it is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• The relief belts can be pressed down gently so that they follow the shape of the seat.
