Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the twin-engined patrol bomber Lockheed PV-1 Ventura in US Navy configuration, 1:48 scale, from Academy. The boxing concentrates on machines deployed in the area of the Solomon Islands and, according to the manufacturer, offers decals for three naval marking options. The kit has finely engraved surfaces and lets you build the bomb bay open or closed.
The Lockheed PV-1 Ventura was an American twin-engined patrol and bomber aircraft of the Second World War, derived from a civil airliner. The US Navy used it for maritime patrol, anti-submarine work and bombing strikes, above all in the Pacific. It stood out for its rugged structure, powerful radial engines and good range, which suited long flights over the sea.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit interior and the bomb bay before you close up the fuselage, if you want to show them open. On a twin-engined airframe with a nose wheel, consider weight in the nose. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the colors with an airbrush; on naval schemes a gentle emphasis on the panel lines and salt-water weathering on exposed places work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
