A set of precisely cut masking templates of Japanese kabuki paper tape from the manufacturer New Ware, intended for kits of the bomber Junkers Ju 88 A-5 in 1:48 scale — specifically ICM 48232 and Hasegawa 07446. This is not a model but an accessory that will markedly speed up and sharpen the painting. The designation BASIC marks, in the New Ware line, the basic extent aimed at the most laborious areas: the many-piece glazing of the cockpit and the landing gear wheels.
The Junkers Ju 88, a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, had its whole nose and cockpit covered with dozens of small glass panels. Outlining every frame by hand is a matter of many hours on this type, and a single slip of the brush is visible at first glance. With cut masks it is enough to lay the templates on the clear parts, press the edges down and spray — first with the interior color, then with the camouflage. After the masks are lifted off, the edges of the frames stay perfectly sharp.
The set holds painting masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
