1:48 Mask L-19/O-1 Bird Dog EXPERT (RDN)

New Ware L-19/O-1 Bird Dog EXPERT masking set (1:48)

This is not a model but a set of self-adhesive painting masks from the maker New Ware for plastic models of the light Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog observation airplane in 1:48 scale. The masks are machine die-cut with precision from kabuki paper, which holds well on rounded surfaces and can be taken off after painting without adhesive residue. The EXPERT level is the most complete one: it covers the glazing of the roomy cabin from the outside and the inside (double-sided masking, known as TFace), the landing gear wheels and the masking of the antennas.

The real subject

The Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog was a light high-wing observation and liaison airplane used for artillery spotting and reconnaissance, among other places in Korea and Vietnam. The extensive cabin glazing with its many small frames makes precise masks a great saving of work.

Use

• Peel the mask off the sheet and transfer it to the part with tweezers.
• The masks register exactly against the glazing frames of the given model.
• The inner masks let you paint the cabin frame from the inside as well.
• The masks for the wheels and the antennas separate the painted areas without bleed.

Who the set is for

• Modelers who want clean frames on glazed cabins.
• Builders who do not care to cut masks by hand.
• More experienced modelers who value masking from both sides.

It is an accessory for painting a model, not a kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
