A cut self-adhesive mask set from New Ware in 1:48 scale in the ADVANCED grade. The set covers two closely related versions, the original MiG-21F-13 and its Chinese derivative the J-7A, whose main glazing is treated in the same way. The package holds a film on a backing sheet; there is no part of a model in it.
The J-7A is based on the design of the MiG-21F-13, and the forward airframe and the canopy correspond on both versions. The manufacturer therefore releases one set that fits both, and the modeler does not have to worry about which of the versions he is building. For ordering, all that matters is which kit the set is cut for, because the dimensions of the glazing differ between manufacturers even for the same type.
Each group of masks calls for a different approach. Always mask the glazing before spraying the primer and work from the largest part to the smallest. On the wheels a mask saves painting the rim in by brush: stick it on the tire, spray the rim color and take the mask off the same day. Press the thin frames down along their whole length with the edge of a stick; it is exactly there that paint creeps in most often. If you are building a two-color camouflage, always let one color set before you lay the mask on for the second.
The package holds only the masking film. Paints, glue and a kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
